About These Images and Acknowledgement

My approach to photography is very basic. I take a picture to capture a moment, to help me remember how each moment intertwines with my story and the stories of people around me. I do not want to impress. I ‘re-create’ these images–I can never create them for there is only one creator–because I want to celebrate the beauty around me. That is all there is to it.

Admittedly, I never learned how to use Photoshop (and other photo editing software) and I think I wanted it to stay that way, at least for now. I do not want to rely on photo editing techniques so much at this stage so I can truly learn the art and essence of taking pictures, in the most basic and personal sense.  I also normally use ambient light so some of my works may actually be over- or underexposed (wink!). Therefore, if I needed to make some minor adjustments, for example, in the saturation of color or lighting, I just simply use the software that goes with my DSLR (or phone camera). In some cases, I will apply filter that is available in Instagram.

I would like to thank my photography teacher, Jimmy Domingo, for the lessons that he gave us when we were still active in an environmental volunteer group that I had founded. His talent and generosity of spirit will always be remembered and appreciated. Salamat sa iyo, Teacher Jimmy!

I would also like to thank my husband, JR Suarin, for being a supportive and loving partner and friend, a fun-loving travel companion (who always carries my bag so I can easily take pictures), and the best-ever ‘personal chef’. Our journeys together make me a better and richer person.

Most of all, I thank our Supreme Being, our God-source-divine, for the magic and colors of this universe. The beauty in the images that come out of our lenses comes from where there is unending love. S/he will always be the Source of light and miracles.

Happy viewing!

Hi Doc Cats! Super thankful as well to have met you today! Hubby and I are grateful and blessed that your spa & skin clinic was just across the car A/C repair shop so we (especially me!) had a “refuge” while the vehicle’s compressor was being replaced. You, your staff, and your services are very much appreciated. 🙂 Thanks also to Marissa, Christy, and Lisa (I hope I remembered their names!). God bless you and your business! P.s. You may want to talk with the AC repair shop across and request them to hand out your flyers to their clients who are waiting as their cars are being fixed. 🙂 They may want to do this if you give them a little incentive like referral fees or free treatments. 🙂
